It’s the most valuable question in sales!

Image
If you want to get  really good answers , you need to ask really good questions. What I’m going to show you today is maybe the best question in sales. It’s a fantastic question you should ask when presenting to a prospective client or customer. A question that will help you massively increase your conversion rate. Here it is. Just before you finish speaking with a new prospect, ask them the following. “Are there any questions you would like me to have asked you?” Usually, small business owners would ask the prospect if there’s anything else they’d like to know or if they have any questions. If the prospect was not particularly motivated to hire them or buy from them, they’ll usually just say ‘no’, as a way to wind the meeting down. At that point, the small business owner would have lost the sale. However, when you ask,  “Are there any questions you would like me to have asked you?” , their focus shifts. And you open a door. Prospects who were not parti...

Shweta Harve Strikes Back at Online Hate with Defiant New Single “What the Troll?”

Image
There’s a moment in Shweta Harve’s “What the Troll?” music video—just a flicker—when the camera holds on her face, half-lit, half-shadowed, as she sings, “I won’t feed you, nor react.” Her voice is steady. Her eyes? Unflinching. It’s not a performance…it’s a declaration. With her latest single, Harve isn’t just releasing a song. She’s launching a counteroffensive against one of the most insidious forces of the modern age: cyberbullying. “What the Troll?” is a razor-edged pop anthem that pulls no punches, blending bold lyrical clapbacks with sleek production and an emotionally charged visual story. It’s Harve’s sharpest, and most socially resonant, work to date. Born from her own experiences navigating the minefield of toxic online culture, Harve’s track is an indictment of the faceless hate that flourishes behind usernames and avatars. “There’s something about the anonymity that makes people crueler,” she says. “I wanted to address that head-on, but also with empathy. Because...

Attract. Don’t sell

Image
It turns out that everybody in your marketplace has at least 2 things in common. They hate being sold to. They hate having problems. Think about it, your business exists in order to solve a problem or a number of problems. Every business does. Therefore, business owners should be approaching prospective clients as a problem solver. Not as an accountant, courier, retailer, IFA, designer, trainer or whatever. But as someone who can make the prospect’s life easier, less stressful, or both, by solving at least one problem for them. This means talking to them, instead of pitching to them. It means focusing on their needs, so we get a clear understanding of their problems. Then, explaining how we can help them. When your marketplace sees you as a source of answers, they’ll regard you as a useful asset . And that changes the whole dynamic of how you do business. You become a vastly more attractive proposition. Why? Because we’re draw...

How Schools Are Using Smart Tech to Boost Safety

Creating a safe learning environment has always been a priority for schools. But in today’s world, that responsibility has expanded beyond locked doors and fire drills. From vaping and bullying to intrusions and environmental hazards, schools face a growing list of safety concerns — and they’re turning to smart technology to help. Smart tech in schools doesn’t just mean faster Wi-Fi or digital whiteboards. It now includes real-time monitoring systems, automated alerts, and discreet detection tools that help administrators respond faster and more effectively to potential threats. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 93% of public schools reported they had one or more technology-based security measures in place by the 2021–2022 school year, including surveillance cameras, electronic communication systems, and emergency notification platforms. And that number continues to rise as schools expand their safety tech portfolios. Real-Time Monitoring Makes Sch...

Sam Sammane on Digital Amnesia and the Decline of Human Memory

Image
It happens quietly. You forget a detail mid-sentence and instinctively reach for your phone. A familiar route looks unfamiliar without GPS. You once knew a poem by heart—now it lives in a tab you can’t remember closing. No alarms go off. No harm seems done. But over time, something shifts. The mind, once trained to hold, reflect, and carry weight, now waits for a prompt. This isn’t forgetfulness. This is digital amnesia —and we’ve welcomed it without protest. Living without mental weight Technology was meant to assist, not displace. Yet daily tasks that once exercised memory have become fully automated. Calendar alerts tell us where to be. Apps finish our thoughts. Autocomplete writes our messages before we even know what we want to say. It feels efficient. And in many ways, it is. But when remembering becomes unnecessary, attention fades. Recollection becomes rare. And thought loses its texture. The tools haven’t failed us. We’ve simply stopped showing...

Why Quirky, Aesthetic Products Dominate Social Media

In a scroll-heavy world where attention is currency, it’s not the sleek, polished products that often go viral — it’s the oddball, colorful, or weirdly specific ones. Quirky, aesthetic items are dominating TikTok feeds, popping up in Instagram Stories, and getting shared in group chats not just because they’re useful, but because they’re delightfully different . And it’s working. According to a 2023 HubSpot consumer trends report, 73% of Gen Z shoppers say they’re more likely to buy a product if it’s “aesthetic or unique” — even if they don’t need it immediately. That impulse-driven, visual-first shopping behavior is driving serious traction for brands that understand the moment. Here’s a closer look at why quirky, aesthetic products are winning on social — and how businesses can tap into the trend. Visuals Are Everything on Social The algorithm rewards engagement — and engagement starts with a scroll-stopper. Bright colors, unexpected shapes, and nostalgic references ...

Having a Healthy Sex Life When Using Dating Apps

Image
As more and more adults become sexually active, it is important to keep in mind the best practices for leading a healthy and safe sex life. In the United States today, 1 in 5 people have a sexually transmitted infection, leaving many wondering what factors may lead them to be at a higher risk for infection. Research shows that where one lives, their choices, their identity, and their sexuality are all major players in the equation. Different areas of the United States carry a higher risk for contracting an STI , as well as for different types of STIs. For example, one is most likely to contract gonorrhea in the southern region of the country, and will be at the highest risk for infection in that region or in and around larger metropolitan cities in America. Choices like having unprotected sex, having multiple partners, or using dating apps can also determine risk, as any practice with an element of unknown or uncertainty can be dangerous. One’s sexuality, ethnicity, age, income, e...

How to make more sales, in uncertain times

Image
As I promised recently , here are some more ideas to help you and your business through the uncertainty of the current economy. As things change, we need to adjust our marketing to the new wants and needs of our customers or clients. That’s what I’m focusing on today. Plan with flexibility Typical marketing plans run for a year and make the mistake of assuming conditions will remain roughly the same. As a result, these plans fall to pieces when faced with a period of rapid change. That’s why your marketing plan needs to have flexibility built in. I recommend creating 90-day marketing plans, to run alongside your overall business plan. These need to be regularly reviewed and adjusted, based on real-time feedback. What’s working better than before? What are your prospects suddenly asking for? What’s no longer working as well as it used to? You get the idea. Pay extra close attention to your customers One of the best pieces of...

How to increase your prices

Image
Do you need to increase your prices or fees because of the current crisis? Not sure what to do? I’ve put these ideas together, to help you limit resistance to your price increase as much as possible. Let’s go! Honesty and openness Customers are more understanding of a price rise when they hear specifics. For example, tell them your shipping costs have doubled and to maintain the same level of quality/service, you’re increasing prices by (whatever) percent. Specifics cut to the point. The more real it feels, the fairer it sounds. Give as much notice as possible This is important on a number of levels. Short notice price increases give the impression your business is in trouble. This dents customer confidence. Even a couple of weeks’ notice can reduce customer resistance. You may also find that the advance notice creates a short-term increase in sales. This can provide you with a very welcome improvement to your cash flow! Reward you...
